Phelan A. Simpkins is a member of State Farm's Law Department, where he serves as Corporate Counsel on Intellectual Property matters. Phelan’s practice focuses on counseling business clients on a range of issues from contract terms and licensing matters, marketing and branding, to various social media platforms.
He is a Vice-Chair of the Chicago Bar Association Young Lawyers Division In-House Counsel committee, and a 2022 – 2024 Business Law Fellow of the American Bar Association. In his spare time, Phelan hosts a visual podcast, How To Get Away With a JD, which aims to connect pre-law, law students, and practitioners.
